SIMONDS LIONESS CLUB

LIONESS HISTORY

On January 24, 1964 a group of Lions wives met at the home of Dorothy Corbett. On a motion made by Mary Stover and seconded by Florence Ells, the Lionette Club in the Parish of Simonds was formed. There were 25 members listed on the Club roster.

40th Charter Celebration Night

In November, 1980, the Simonds Lionettes voted 19 to 5 in favor of becoming a part of Lioness International. The official certification was presented on May 19, 1981 by District Governor Victor Messer. Twenty nine Lionesses were inducted. Three of these Lionesses were charter Lionettes: Dorothy Corbett, Val Crisp, and Marion Stilwell.
